Atlas of Deadly Snakes
Atlas of Deadly Snakes is a personal project exploring the fascinating world of venomous snakes across the globe. The idea for this book was sparked by my discovery of a huge amount of royalty-free scientific illustrations on the Biodiversity Heritage Library’s Flickr account.
This hardcover book features quarter-cloth binding, adorned with a striking snakeskin pattern for a tactile and thematic finish. The typeface, Norman, was selected for its versatile alternative glyphs and intricate decorative elements, reminiscent of snake tails and fangs. The bold use of red throughout the design evokes a sense of danger, perfectly capturing the essence of the creatures within.
